​Next Friday 15/12/2023 the VIII edition of “The 8th UPV/EHU Apps for Education Fair" will be held. This Fair is the public presentation of an interdisciplinary project that is carried out annually jointly by the Faculty of Education of Bilbao and the Bilbao School of Engineering. The aim of the project is to promote, on the one hand, the use of new technologies in the field of education, and on the other hand, the ability to implement applied solutions from telecommunications engineering environment.

The 8th UPV/EHU Apps for Education Fair is more special than ever. Under the slogan "Technology by and for everyone" 8 mobile applications have been created for people and children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Although we prefer to say that they are apps for all kinds of people with many different abilities.

In this adventure where we have opted for the care for the richness of diversity, we have worked collaboratively with students from the School of Engineering of Bilbao (Master in Telecommunications), the Faculty of Education of Bilbao (Education Degrees) and the "Down Syndrome Foundation and other intellectual disabilities of the Basque Country" in an intense and cooperative way. The intense and enriching experience has managed, albeit modestly, to contribute to the development of a fairer and more inclusive technology. In other words, a technology created by everyone and for everyone.

The apps developed are available free on Google Play. Following the tradition, in this edition will also be awarded with the prize "TxAPPelduna 2023" to the app that gets better ratings and more downloads on Google Play. So, from the organization we encourage you to download and evaluate the apps and we invite you to attend the Fair to be held on December 15 from 10.15 am to 11.15 am at the Faculty of Education of Bilbao (Leioa Campus, UPV/EHU).

At the Fair, the projects will be presented in stands with posters and tutorials that each group of students has developed, which, in turn, will answer all questions and doubts about the applications created. In the APPs section of this website you can already see the video tutorials and access Google Play to install the apps on Android devices and rate the ones you like the most!
